Dalal Al-Taweel, Ph.D., is currently an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice. She joined the department of Pharmacy Practice, in the Faculty of Pharmacy in 2013 after graduating from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow,Scotland. She is currently the chair of Kuwait Medicines Information Centre at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Kuwait University. She is interested in Pharmaceutical Care; Drug Information; Medication use evaluation researches.
Dr. Dalal obtained her MPharm degree from the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland in 2002. She then became a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain in 2003. Dr. Dalal gained her MSc in Clinical Pharmacy as well as a PhD (Pharmaceutical care) from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, in 2008 and 2013 respectively.
Dr. Dalal Al-Taweel worked as a community pharmacist at Charles Michie’s chemist in Aberdeen in 2002-2004.
She then worked in the Ministry of Health in Kuwait as a pharmacist in both primary care and tertiary care (Cardiac hospital) from 2004-2006.
Dr Dalal now holds an Assistant Professor rank at the Department of Pharmacy Practice in the Faculty of Pharmacy at Kuwait University where she coordinates the Drug Information services course in the BPharm program and the Evidence based pharmacy practice course in the PharmD. She also has teaching duties in Pharmaceutical care courses.
