Dr. Roy Guharoy is the Vice President of Clinical Integration and Chief Pharmacy Officer at Ascension. In his role, he leads medication management across 142 hospitals including therapeutics standardization, antimicrobial stewardship, medication quality, safety and outcome initiatives.
He is a Professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Prior to joining Ascension team, Dr.Guharoy served as the chief pharmacy officer at the University of Massachusetts Health care and Director of Pharmacy and Associate Chief of section of clinical pharmacology, department of medicine at the SUNY Health Science System, New York.
He has published a text book on infectious diseases, presented/published over three hundred articles on infectious disease management, evidence based medicine practice, cost-effective medication management and patient safety in peer reviewed journals, national and international meetings. He is a fellow of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, American College of Clinical Pharmacy and American College of Clinical Pharmacology. Dr.Guharoy was the recipient of University Health Consortium best medication management system, SUNY Upstate Medical University outstanding faculty, SUNY outstanding professional services and many other national awards
