Welcome address to the 8th Pharmaceutical Care Conference
We cordially welcome you to the 8th pharmaceutical care conference which will take place on 19th and 21st of February 2018 at the Oman Convention Exhibition Centre (OCEC), in beautiful downtown Muscat, most versatile convention and exhibition facility.
This highly anticipated event includes prompt keynote presentations, Oral talks, Poster presentations and Exhibitions with the theme of “Towards Excellence in pharmacy Practice” This year we have variety of topics with a broad spectrum of specialties as it focuses on the key issues of sustainable development of pharmacy practice throughout the region, I hope this premise will inspire all of us to sharpen our vision and achieve the targeted goals. And as stated by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), “there has been an effort to change from a sickness care model to a health care model”. As pharmaceutical care conference continue its mission of improving patient safety in Oman as well as in the region. Through bringing together some of the most recognized names in healthcare & pharmacy practice, providing you with the opportunity to advance your practice, gain new knowledge, develop new ideas for your organizations as well network with your peers and experts in the field pf your practice.
This year’s the Conference will highlight the roles of health system integration and patient engagement in improving medication safety. Furthermore, it will run a parallel event on health system development under the theme “Responsive Health Systems: the path to Universal Health Coverage”.
The 8th pharmaceutical care Conference is supported by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), the World Health Organization (WHO), American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), Institute of Safe Medications Practices (ISMP) US and Canada, and the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists (EAHP). It is worth mentioning that conference will be accredited by American Accreditation Counsel for Pharmacy Education (ACCPE) for pharmacists and doctors, and by Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB).
A special session on Opioids stewardship program will be conducted by a group of worldwide experts in pharmaceutical care and pharmacy practice leaders in order to explore the future of pharmacy practices and the range of professional services offered by pharmacists. We expect this will be adding an exceptional value to the conference scientific program.
