Biography

ProfessorIbrahimA. Alsarra received his Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.S.), in 1996 from
College of Pharmacy, King SaudUniversity, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and his doctor
of Philosophy (PhD) in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Drug Formulation
Development, Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmacy,
University of Missouri-Kansas City, Missouri, USA.
He joined King Saud University in 2002 and is currently the Assistant Secretary for
Research and Scientific Affairs, Arab Pharmacists Union as well as the Deputy
Director for Research and Technical Affairs, Centre of Excellence in Biotechnology
Research; the only biotechnology centre in Saudi Arabia, King Saud University.
He was the President of Saudi Pharmaceutical Society for two terms and the
former Editor-in-Chief of Saudi Pharmaceutical Journal for six years, a peer-reviewed and ISI-Indexed Journal with an impact factor of 3.45.
Research interests:
Professor Alsarra research interests include; Pharmaceutical Biotechnology;
Biosimilars and Biological medications, Drug Delivery, and Controlled Drug
Release.
Research Achievements Summary:
Professor Alsarra has more than 9 registered patent: (Four)-US Patents, (Three)-
European Patents, and (Two)- Saudi Patents. He has published several books
chapters and several peers- reviewed paper in highly reputed journals (more than
145 peer-reviewed papers).
Some Grants Awarded:
Best Editor-in-Chief (2014), of the scientific journals hosted by King and Saud
University and published by Elsevier, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
