Biography
Katherine Yang, PharmD, MPH is a Health Sciences Clinical Professor of Pharmacy at the University of California, San Francisco School of Pharmacy and an Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacist at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center. Dr. Yang specializes in the treatment of multi-drug resistant infections, particularly gram-negative bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Her area of expertise is in the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic optimization of antibiotic dosing to potentially overcome resistance and improve clinical outcomes and her research focuses on the optimal treatment of bacterial biofilms. For the last 20months, Dr. Yang has redirected her efforts toward the management of COVID-19. She participated in the NIH-sponsored Adaptive Covid-19 Treatment Trials (ACTT) and is heavily involved in the management of COVID-19 therapeutics at UCSF.
