Biography

Dr. Al Ahdab is a UAE national working as a Pharmaceutical Advisor at drug department, Ministry of Health and Prevention, Abu Dhabi, UAE. In addition to her regulatory experience, she hold several key positions across the MOHAP since 1990; such as material management, drug formulary manager, deputy head of medical procurement, head of inspection and compliance, and head of pharmaceutical care dept. In addition she is an active member on several committees at national, regional and international levels, including, GCC Group Purchase Tendering.
Furthermore, Dr. Al Ahdab is working in Academia since Feb 2009 as assistant clinical Professor of pharmacy practice (adjunct faculty) for both post graduates and undergraduates in pharmacy colleges and universities in the UAE.
Dr. Ola’s Post graduate studies were completed at Queens University of Belfast, UK, School of Pharmacy, where she was awarded a PhD in Pharmacoeconomics and Medicine Management in December 2008 as a full time study, and Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy in December 2003 as part time study. She has completed her undergraduate studies from the Damascus University, School of Pharmacy in Oct 1980.

Research Interests and specialty include and not limited to: Pharmacoepidemiology, health economics& outcome research, budget impact analysis, pharmacovigilance, patient’s safety, adherence to pharmacotherapy, drug regulations, policies, pricing pharmaceuticals, drug utilization reviews, time series analysis, formulary management, rational drug selection, efficient procurements, therapeutic tendering, controlling drug expenditure, prescribing policies, standard treatment guidelines, professional compliance, , rational drug use, post marketing surveillance, training and development, related studies & research
